The CodePlex Foundation (www.codeplex.org) serves a wide range of projects, regardless of platform or technology base, to enable the exchange of code and understanding among software companies and open source communities. The name derives from www.codeplex.com, an open source project repository built by Microsoft a few years ago that has now expanded to host over 10,000 open source projects built by individual developers as well as roughly 500 by Microsoft employees.”

As the design lead at Blue Rooster I provided brand asset design services to create a logo and look and feel for www.codeplex.org, leveraging the look and feel of www.codeplex.com, but with a differentiated color palette and iconic style.
The site, which was designed to be simple, clean and intuitive, integrated social media through Twitter and SlideShare. It was built to be fully compliant and validated through W3C as XHTML 1.0 strict. At launch, www.codeplex.org was immediately embraced by the open source community.
